Falcon Heavy Rocket Launch of SpaceX Delayed Again

Falcon Heavy Rocket of SpaceX which was scheduled for this month, has been delayed due to a ‘payload readiness’ issue.

A spokesperson for Space Systems Command said that the launch of the Space Force’s USSF-44 mission was scheduled for Oct. 9, but the officials have delayed the mission “to accommodate payload readiness,”

Now the launch has been targeted for early 2022 as the new launch date has yet not been released by the spokesperson.

The Falcon Heavy will carry several payloads to a high-altitude geosynchronous orbit on the USSF-44 mission. The spacecraft’s upper stage will fire many times to place the satellites into position more than 22,000 miles above the equator.

USSF-44 mission will contain TETRA 1 microsatellite which is manufactured by Millennium Space Systems, a subsidiary of Boeing headquartered in El Segundo, California. Other satellites of the USSF-44 mission have not been disclosed by military officials.

Falcon Heavy Rocket launch was delayed from July to October. These postponements will result in several Falcon Heavy Rocket launches in the next year, including four which will be planned from Florida’s Space Coast between January and August 2022

The Space Systems Command spokesperson said that after the launch of USSF-44, the next national security launch USSF-52 mission is scheduled for the second quarter of 2022. After this commercial Falcon Heavy launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2022, which will carry a Viasat 3 broadband communications satellite toward geostationary orbit.

In August 2022, NASA’s robotic Psyche spacecraft is scheduled to launch aboard a Falcon Heavy Rocket on a mission. SpaceX will launch the USSF-67 mission but it’s not clear yet whether the mission will include Falcon 9 or Falcon Heavy.
