COVID-19 Virus Outbreak: India sets World Record for highest infection in a Single Day

India recorded 349,691 cases in the 24 hours on Saturday. On the fourth day in a row, the county has set up the new world record for the highest number of coronavirus infection cases in a single day.

The daily death cases rose to 2,767 which is also a record itself India has recorded since the pandemic. According to the union health minister, five states –Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Kerala – Contributed to 54 percent of the cases

Hospitals are shutting down the new admission due to a lack of medical supplies.  People are not getting beds in hospitals and Oxygen supplies on a timely basis as hospitals in the majorly hit states running out of Oxygen

Now, the government has deployed train and military planes to get oxygen from the far corners of the nation to Delhi

“Please help us get oxygen, there will be a tragedy here,” Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a conference on Friday.

The country on Monday announced that everyone above 18 years of age will be eligible for vaccine starting from 1st May. The registration for the vaccination will be open from 28th April on its digital portal Co-Win and its app Aarogya Setu
