Mumbai, Maharashtra- May 28th 2018- Luxury label Balenciaga’s latest runway looks have arrived at Le Mill. The brand’s street style aesthetic is loved by it-girls from Kareena Kapoor to Kendall Jenner and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
The Spring Summer 2018 collection by Balenciaga was edgy and defiant, with Creative Director Demna Gvasalia infusing a sense of darkness into the layered looks. In order to convey a sense of urgency and eminent danger, added spiked pumps and military elements to the ensembles. The running trend was print clashing; classic tartan pencil skirts and gingham coats looked fresher paired with Barbie pink camo and flashy currency bill prints. Fringed leather bags in punchy hues and monogrammed fanny packs accented the eclectic collection.
Balenciaga accessories remain iconic, despite the varied aesthetics of its designers. The classic Balenciaga City bag, with its bold metal studs and slouchy leather exterior is a classic tote bag that holds a place in any serious collector’s closet. Created in the early 2000’s by then Creative Director Nicholas Ghesquiere, its youthful, rebellious vibe first caught the fashion world’s attention when editors and models like Kate Moss were spotted wearing it. The luxury fashion label was founded in 1919 by Spanish couturier Cristobal Balenciaga. His creation of unique silhouettes and strong, yet feminine looks made him one of the most influential designers of all time. Current Creative Director Demna Gvasalia may have an entirely different style, but his streetwear influenced garments have the same pioneering spirit of the historical designs. Le Mill’s edit includes nightwear inspired blouses and gowns, tailored blazers and accessories with the BB monogram.
